OSHKOSH DEFENSE FACILITIES RECOGNIZED WITH OSHA VPP STAR STATUS FOR SAFETY EXCELLENCE

At Oshkosh Defense, safety is more than a policy. It’s a core value. As we celebrate National Safety Month, we are proud to share that six of our facilities have achieved Star status under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). The VPP Star designation is OSHA’s highest level of recognition for employers and team members who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and consistently maintain injury and illness rates below national industry averages. This recognition reflects our long-standing commitment to building a culture where every team member takes ownership of safety and feels supported in taking action.

This achievement highlights the importance of continuous improvement and shared responsibility in protecting one another. Achieving and maintaining VPP Star status takes more than meeting requirements. It demands collaboration, consistent effort, and a forward-thinking approach to risk prevention. For our six recognized facilities, this status is both an accomplishment and a reminder to keep striving higher. It demonstrates to our team members, customers, and partners that safety is not negotiable. By building a strong safety culture, we strengthen our operations and help ensure every mission begins and ends with confidence.

“Our people are at the center of everything we do,” said Nathan Crook, Vice President of Operations. “Earning VPP Star status across six facilities speaks volumes about our teams’ commitment to creating a safe and supportive workplace. This recognition is a reflection of Oshkosh’s People First culture that our team lives every day.”
