Established Oshkosh Production Capabilities Accommodate Prompt Vehicle Delivery to U.S. Forces in Afghanistan

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Feb. 19, 2009 — A timely production turnaround will be critical to deliver MRAP All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV) to the U.S. forces serving in Afghanistan. Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), has the facilities, experience and capacity to deliver these M-ATV vehicles on time and in the quantities that are needed.

With its fully established supply chain, the Oshkosh® M-ATV team can produce the military’s most probable delivery order of 2,080 M-ATVs within months of an awarded contract. The Oshkosh team is able to produce several hundred to 1,000 M-ATVs on a monthly basis, which Oshkosh included in its response to the U.S. Department of Defense’s request for proposal.

“Oshkosh’s warm production lines coupled with our mature M-ATV design allow us to ramp up production of this vehicle without impacting our current military programs,” said John Stoddart, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president, Defense. “Our skilled Oshkosh workforce and proven production capabilities also allow us to incorporate advanced technologies into each delivery order, should demands in the field call for new capabilities.”

The Oshkosh M-ATV team’s pre-award planning and engineering activities allow for an immediate start on day one, following a contract award. In addition, Oshkosh has theater-experienced field service representatives stationed around the world, including Afghanistan, to support the company’s vehicles and meet emerging needs.

Oshkosh delivers the M-ATV with the survivability, mobility, mission-proven and production-ready solutions required for Afghanistan. The vehicle is based on the combat-proven Oshkosh Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) chassis, which has been successfully operating for many years in the most difficult off-road missions in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.
