OSHKOSH, Wis. — Jan. 24, 2008 — Today at 11 a.m. EST, the Defense Group of Oshkosh Truck Corporation [NYSE:OSK] will open its newest location in Warren, Mich, with a grand opening ceremony. Oshkosh Truck has invited local dignitaries, elected government officials as well as government customers from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) to attend the ceremony.
Located in close proximity to TACOM in the Detroit metropolitan area, the Oshkosh Truck Warren office will contain engineering capabilities and a large maintenance area to provide TACOM program and product managers with increased access and involvement in Oshkosh Truck’s execution and performance of their programs.
“Oshkosh Truck has a long history of working in tandem with the soldiers and Marines who use our vehicles,” said John Stoddart, executive vice president and president, Defense Group, Oshkosh Truck. “The opening of the Warren office gives the program managers and engineers at TACOM more visibility and supervision over the projects, thus creating a more efficient process for feedback and execution.”
The Warren office location will be used primarily for military programs, but could offer additional services with future expansion. It also will serve as the home office for a small group of engineers with the capabilities to make minor vehicle modifications.
