OSHKOSH’S FAMILY OF MEDIUM TACTICAL VEHICLES (FMTV) A2
The modernized Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles exceeds the needs of a changing battlefield
INNOVATION. EXPERTISE. PERFORMANCE.
FMTV A2 OFFERS INCREASED PROTECTION, PAYLOAD, AND MOBILITY
The Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) A2 is trusted to move troops and supplies, recover vehicles and weapon systems, and haul equipment wherever the mission requires. As missions evolve, so has the FMTV.
A modernized version of the FMTV A1P2, the FMTV A2 family of vehicles boasts 12 truck variants, 4 chassis, and 3 trailer options that offer increased troop protection, additional carrying payload, and better ride quality and mobility. The FMTV A2 retains compatibility with fielded FMTV trailers and a spectrum of kits and weapons systems.

Oshkosh Defense’s FMTV A2 enhances crew survivability with armored cabs, 3-point seat belts, automatic braking systems, and the Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS).
The FMTV increases tactical mobility with a small enough footprint to be deployed via a C-5, C-17 or C-130 aircraft.
With common parts, the FMTV reduces maintenance downtime and offers a highly reliable, mission-ready vehicle.

LOW VELOCITY AIRDROP CAPABLE
Designed for parachute delivery of platform loads from cargo aircraft, low-velocity airdrop (LVAD) vehicles are an integral part of the U.S. Army’s enduring fleet. Built in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the FMTV A2 LVAD offers the performance and protection of the FMTV A2 with a few critical additions including a folding cab that allows the vehicle height to reduce to 90”, a chassis designed specifically for parachute drop and landing, and the addition of a winch to all LVAD variants. FMTV A2 LVAD variants include a 4×4 cargo, 6×6 cargo and dump truck.
HISTORY OF THE OSHKOSH DEFENSE FMTV
Since the initial FMTV A1P2 contract award in 2009, the United States military and allied foreign governments have relied on nearly 50,000 FMTVs and trailers built by Oshkosh Defense.
In 2018, the U.S. Army awarded Oshkosh a production contract for the next generation FMTV, the FMTV A2. The FMTV A2 demonstrates ultimate platform flexibility with variants designed to move troops and supplies, recover vehicles and weapon systems, and haul equipment wherever the mission requires.
As the exclusive provider of medium tactical vehicles, Oshkosh is committed to delivering the best performing vehicles to the U.S. Armed Forces and allied partners.
The Oshkosh Defense Aftermarket team continues to support the sustainment and performance of FMTV A1P2s.
