(April 4, 2011) — Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), is supporting the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) as a sponsor of its Honor Guard Gala, held April 5 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. The event salutes and supports the families and loved ones of military members who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

Funds raised at the gala will assist TAPS in providing round-the-clock tragedy assistance resources for anyone, whether friend or family, who has suffered the loss of a loved one who served in the military. Founded in 1994, TAPS provides comfort and care through peer-based emotional support, case work assistance, crisis intervention and grief and trauma resources.
Oshkosh Defense has a long-standing history of supporting military members, both in the field and when they return, and their families through charitable giving and program support. The company has partnered with organizations such as Fisher House, USO, Wounded Warriors Project, Armed Forces Foundation (AFF), Our Military Kids and others.
