Jeffry Heggemeier serves as the vice president of delivery vehicle programs for Oshkosh Defense. He is responsible for the advanced operations of the delivery vehicle market. Most recently Heggemeier held the position of vice president of engineering where he was responsible for all aspects of engineering, from concept generation through production support and sustainment.
Prior to joining Oshkosh Defense, Heggemeier retired from federal civilian service, having worked for the Air Force Research Lab, developing and fielding Directed Energy technology and systems. Notably, he was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award for his work.
Heggemeier is an Afghanistan combat veteran. In 2012, he led the deployment of a new technology to defeat improvised explosive devices in Helmand, Afghanistan, where he conducted many patrols with Marines and soldiers. The technology, MAX POWER, was integrated onto an Oshkosh Defense LVSR, and he relied on that platform to get him home safely.
Heggemeier is also a Colonel in the New Mexico Air National Guard where he is currently the commander of the Mission Support Group of the 150th Special Operations Wing.
Heggemeier holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of St. Thomas, and a Master of Engineering and a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
