OSHKOSH, Wis. — March 6, 2009 — Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), announced today it has been awarded a contract with the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) for government purchase of the two production-ready Oshkosh® MRAP All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV) that were delivered on Feb. 23. This contract award is one of the required phases in the U.S. military’s evaluation of M-ATV submissions.
The contract, valued at $1 million, was awarded after the Oshkosh vehicles met the government’s initial design requirements for the M-ATV program, including weight, crew support and survivability. Based on the mobile and mission-proven Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) chassis with TAK-4® independent suspension and featuring a combat-tested armor system from Plasan North America for superior crew protection, the Oshkosh M-ATV will now undergo military testing.

Upon completion of successful military testing, Oshkosh could be awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for three additional production-ready vehicles for further testing. The IDIQ contract is the same contract from which the government would award Oshkosh full production of an anticipated 2,080 M-ATVs.
