Oshkosh Defense Receives $33 Million Award to Install Camera System on M-ATVs

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Jan. 5, 2010 — Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), has received an award valued at more than $33 million from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to install rear-view camera systems on more than 2,250 MRAP All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV).

Work under the delivery order is expected to begin in March 2010 and be completed in May 2010. With this delivery order, a total of 4,400 M-ATVs will be integrated with the camera system. The camera system, which integrates with existing vehicle video displays, provides excellent rearward visibility under all operating conditions. The system uses an infrared camera core in an LED-equipped tailgate assembly and provides visibility through dust, obscurants and incremental weather in both day and night operations.

To date, Oshkosh has received six orders valued at more than $3.3 billion to supply 6,619 M-ATVs. The company ramped up production to more than 1,000 vehicles in December and has exceeded for six consecutive months the accelerated delivery schedule since being awarded the contract on June 30. The Oshkosh® M-ATV uses the company’s patented TAK-4® independent suspension system to provide superior mobility on Afghanistan’s rugged off-road terrain and unimproved road network. Oshkosh teamed with Plasan North America to provide the vehicle’s advanced armor system.

Oshkosh has produced more than 70,000 military-class vehicles at its production facilities and has the available capacity, highly skilled workforce and proven manufacturing capability to deliver this M-ATV order and all other vehicle orders for all Army and Defense programs, including the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), as well as any surges in production.
