Oshkosh M-ATV Showcased as Survivable, Mobile Solution for U.S. Services in Afghanistan

OSHKOSH, Wis. — March 5, 2009 — Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), announced today a successful showing of the Oshkosh® MRAP All Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV) at last week’s Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Winter Symposium and Exposition before embarking on a multi-city vehicle demonstration tour.

The Oshkosh M-ATV was on full display at the show attended by military leadership and members of the media. The vehicle will be on tour for a series of demonstrations, highlighting why the Oshkosh M-ATV provides superior crew protection and is the mission-proven and production-ready solution for navigating Afghanistan’s rugged terrain.

“We are looking forward to putting our M-ATV into the hands of potential users so they can get a first-hand look at this exceptionally well-armored and maneuverable combat vehicle,” said Andy Hove, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president, Defense. “The Oshkosh M-ATV will allow soldiers and Marines need to safely and effectively operate in demanding off-road terrain.”

Two production-representative vehicles were delivered to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds on Feb. 23 for military testing. The M-ATV contract has a potential award value of $2 billion.

Oshkosh Defense delivers the M-ATV with the survivability, mobility, mission-proven and production-ready solutions required for Afghanistan. The vehicle is based on the combat-proven Oshkosh Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) chassis, which has been successfully operating for many years in the most difficult off-road missions in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.

Hove has been named the new president of Oshkosh Defense, succeeding W. John Stoddart, who retired in February. Hove has been involved with the military and defense industry for more than 20 years.
